Wrinkle Relaxers & Neuromodulators in O’Fallon, MO

Refreshed —not frozen, surprised, or suspiciously shiny.

Wrinkle relaxers can soften expression lines, open and brighten the eyes, and help you look more rested while still allowing you to look like yourself.

At AdoreU, neuromodulator treatments are planned around your facial anatomy, natural expressions, muscle strength, personal preferences, and budget. Some clients want a smoother, longer-lasting result. Others want subtle softening with plenty of movement.

There is no single “right” look. The right treatment is the one that feels right for you.

What Is a Wrinkle Relaxer?

Wrinkle relaxers are injectable medications that temporarily reduce the activity of carefully selected facial muscles.

You may hear them called neuromodulators, neurotoxins, “tox,” or simply Botox. Botox is actually one brand within this treatment category—just as DAXXIFY, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Letybo are individual brands.

When certain muscles repeatedly contract, the skin over them begins to crease. At first, those lines may only appear when you smile, squint, or raise your eyebrows. Over time, they can remain visible even when your face is resting.

By strategically relaxing the muscles contributing to those lines, neuromodulators can create a smoother, more rested appearance and may help prevent expression lines from becoming more deeply etched into the skin.

What Can Neuromodulators Treat?

Wrinkle relaxers are commonly used to address:

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows

  • Horizontal forehead lines

  • Crow’s feet around the eyes

  • A heavy or downward-pulling brow

  • Bunny lines along the nose

  • Lip lines

  • A gummy smile

  • A downward-turned mouth

  • Chin dimpling

  • Platysmal neck bands

  • Jaw tension or a prominent masseter muscle

  • Excessive sweating in certain areas

Not every treatment area is appropriate for every person, and some uses may be considered off-label. Your medical history, facial anatomy, muscle movement, and treatment goals will be evaluated before recommendations are made.

It Is Not About Freezing Your Whole Face

A good neuromodulator treatment should not be obvious for the wrong reasons.

The goal is not to remove every expression or make you look like you are permanently listening to shocking news. It is to soften the movements contributing to unwanted lines while preserving the expressions that make you look like you.

During your appointment, we will discuss:

  • Which lines or areas bother you

  • Which features you do not want changed

  • How much movement you want to preserve

  • Whether you prefer subtle softening or more complete correction

  • Your experiences with previous treatments

  • How long your previous results lasted

  • Your budget and treatment priorities

You do not need to know which product to choose or how many units you need before you arrive. That is part of the assessment.

Experience With Every Major Neuromodulator

I began treating with Botox and have since used Dysport, Jeuveau, Xeomin, DAXXIFY, and Letybo. I have carried and worked with every major neuromodulator currently available in the United States.

That experience has allowed me to see how differently these products can perform across different patients, muscle strengths, facial structures, and treatment areas.

All neuromodulators work through a similar basic mechanism, but they are not identical—and neither are the people receiving them.

The product matters. So do the dose, placement, dilution, treatment pattern, and experience of the person holding the syringe.

Why DAXXIFY Is My Current Favorite

After treating with every major neuromodulator available, DAXXIFY has become my preferred option for many patients.

It is the first and only neuromodulator formulated with a peptide, and I appreciate its speed, precision, potential longevity, and gradual wear-off.

More importantly, I like the results I see in my own patients.

A Faster Start

Many patients begin noticing DAXXIFY working as early as the next day, with results typically beginning within approximately two days.

That means you may not have to spend two weeks repeatedly raising your eyebrows in the mirror and asking, “Is it doing anything yet?”

Every patient responds differently, and the full result still needs time to settle. However, the faster onset is one of the qualities many of my patients appreciate—especially before an upcoming event.

Potentially Longer-Lasting Results

For many appropriately dosed patients, DAXXIFY can provide longer-lasting improvement than they have experienced with other neuromodulators.

Individual longevity varies. Your dose, muscle strength, metabolism, treatment area, desired correction, and previous treatment history can all affect how long your results last.

No neuromodulator lasts the same amount of time for every person. However, many of my DAXXIFY patients enjoy a longer interval between treatments.

Another Option for Difficult-to-Treat Patients

Some patients come to AdoreU after receiving little improvement or very short-lived results from other neuromodulators.

In my practice, I have seen DAXXIFY work well for patients who did not respond as expected to several other products. That does not guarantee that it will work for everyone, but it gives us another valuable option when previous treatments have been disappointing.

A poor response is not always caused by the product itself. Dose, placement, muscle strength, treatment timing, metabolism, and individual biology may all play a role. We will review your previous treatment history before determining the best next step.

Precision Without Losing Your Personality

I appreciate the precision I can achieve with DAXXIFY. It allows me to strategically soften targeted muscles while maintaining movement in the areas where we want it.

The goal is for people to think you look rested and refreshed—not to immediately identify what you had done.

A More Gradual Wear-Off

Another quality I appreciate is how DAXXIFY tends to soften gradually over time.

Rather than feeling as though your treatment suddenly disappeared one morning, many patients experience a progressive return of movement. For me, that softer transition is part of what makes the overall treatment experience feel more natural.

Dose Matters More Than Most People Realize

A product cannot provide its full potential without an appropriate dose.

This is true for DAXXIFY and every other neuromodulator. If you choose lighter dosing because you want more movement, have a specific budget, or simply prefer a more subtle result, that is completely fine.

But lighter dosing will generally not provide the same degree of correction or longevity as a more complete dose.

Lighter Dosing May Provide:

  • More natural movement

  • Subtle line softening

  • A lower initial treatment cost

  • A shorter duration of effect

More Complete Dosing May Provide:

  • Stronger muscle relaxation

  • Greater line softening

  • A smoother overall result

  • Longer treatment longevity

You will never be pressured into more treatment than you want. I will, however, be honest about what a selected dose can realistically accomplish.

If we choose a lighter treatment, we are also choosing to accept more movement and potentially less longevity. Neither approach is wrong—we simply need to make sure the plan matches your priorities and expectations.

Is DAXXIFY the Right Choice for Everyone?

Not necessarily.

DAXXIFY is my current favorite, but that does not mean it is automatically the best choice for every person.

Your previous results, response history, treatment area, muscle strength, desired amount of movement, budget, and personal preferences all matter. If you have used another neuromodulator successfully and want to continue with it, we can discuss that too.

The best product is the one that helps us safely achieve the result you want.

What to Expect

Your Assessment and Treatment Planning

We will review your goals, previous neuromodulator experiences, medical history, desired amount of movement, treatment priorities, and budget.

After evaluating your facial movement and muscle strength, I will recommend a product, dose, and placement plan designed specifically for you. If this is your first treatment with me, the initial plan gives us a thoughtful starting point.

Your actual response will help us make future treatments even more individualized.

Your Treatment

The neuromodulator is placed through a series of small injections in carefully selected areas. Treatment is generally quick, and most patients describe the injections as brief, small pinches.

Immediately afterward, you may notice small raised bumps at the injection sites. These are caused by the small amount of solution placed beneath the skin and usually flatten within approximately 15 minutes. Mild, temporary redness can also occur.

Bruising is possible with any injectable treatment. Some—but not all—patients may experience a mild headache afterward. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided before you leave.

Your Results Will Develop Gradually

One of the things I appreciate most about DAXXIFY is how quickly many of my patients begin noticing a change. For most, it begins working within approximately 24 hours.

However, everyone responds a little differently. One area may begin responding before another, and it can take up to 14 days for the treatment to reach its full effect.

Differences during those first two weeks do not necessarily mean the treatment is uneven or that additional product is needed—it may simply still be developing.

We Wait 14 Days Before Making Adjustments

If something needs to be refined or a dose adjustment is appropriate, we wait until 14 days after treatment to evaluate it.

Adding more product too soon could lead to overtreatment once the original dose fully takes effect. At the two-week point, we can more accurately evaluate your remaining movement, symmetry, degree of correction, and overall result.

How Long Will DAXXIFY Last?

In my practice, most patients experience approximately 13 to 14 weeks of benefit from DAXXIFY, and some enjoy their results longer.

Clinical studies demonstrated that some patients maintained improvement for approximately six months when treated with the studied on-label dose for frown lines. However, six months is not the typical result I promise patients.

Your longevity may be affected by:

  • The dose used

  • The treatment area

  • Your muscle strength

  • Your metabolism

  • How much movement you choose to preserve

  • Your individual response to the medication

DAXXIFY typically begins working faster than many traditional neuromodulators and may also last somewhat longer. Dose still matters, though. Lighter dosing can provide a softer result with more movement, but it generally will not provide the same correction or longevity as a more complete dose.

What We Learn Guides Your Next Treatment

Your first result is not treated like a pass-or-fail test. It gives us useful information about how your muscles respond, how much movement you prefer, and how long your treatment lasts.

We can use that information to refine your future dose, placement, product choice, and treatment schedule. Over time, the plan becomes even more specific to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I Look Frozen?

Not unless that is the level of correction you specifically want.

Dose and placement determine how much movement remains. We will discuss whether you prefer subtle softening, moderate correction, or a smoother and more complete result before treatment.

How Quickly Will I See Results?

Onset varies by product and individual response. With DAXXIFY, results may begin as early as the next day and typically begin within approximately two days. Your result will continue to develop as the medication takes effect.

How Long Will My Results Last?

Longevity varies based on the product, dose, treatment area, muscle strength, metabolism, and individual response.

DAXXIFY may last longer for many appropriately dosed patients, but no duration can be guaranteed. Choosing lighter dosing will typically result in less longevity.

Why Did My Previous Neuromodulator Wear Off So Quickly?

Several factors can contribute to short-lived results, including the dose used, muscle strength, metabolism, treatment placement, the area treated, and individual response.

It does not always mean you are resistant to the product. Reviewing what was used, how much was used, where it was placed, and when movement returned can help guide your next treatment.

Are Units the Same Between Brands?

No. The units used for one neuromodulator cannot be directly compared with the units used for another.

A higher unit number does not automatically mean you are receiving “more” medication. Each product has its own dosing guidelines and unit measurements.

Can Neuromodulators Remove Lines That Are Present at Rest?

Neuromodulators can soften the muscle movement contributing to those lines and may improve their appearance over time.

However, deeply etched lines that remain visible while your face is resting may also benefit from treatments that improve the skin itself, such as resurfacing, microneedling, RF microneedling, regenerative treatments, or medical-grade skincare.

Sometimes the best result comes from combining muscle relaxation with a treatment that rebuilds or resurfaces the skin.

Can I Receive Treatment Before an Event?

Yes, but do not schedule your first treatment immediately before an important event.

Allow enough time for the product to take effect, the result to settle, and any possible bruising or swelling to resolve. Ideally, schedule several weeks before a wedding, professional photo session, reunion, or other major event.

How Often Will I Need Treatment?

Your recommended schedule depends on the product, dose, treatment area, and how your body responds.

Some clients prefer to return as soon as movement begins returning. Others wait until most of the effect has worn off. We can create a maintenance schedule based on the consistency and level of correction you prefer.

Is There Downtime?

Most people return to their usual activities shortly after treatment. Temporary redness, bumps, swelling, tenderness, or bruising can occur.

Although complications are uncommon, neuromodulators are prescription medications and should be administered by a qualified medical professional after an appropriate assessment.

The Product Is Only Part of the Result

Choosing a respected neuromodulator is important, but the vial does not create the treatment plan.

Your result also depends on understanding facial anatomy, assessing how your muscles interact, selecting an appropriate dose, placing it precisely, and listening to what you actually want.

At AdoreU, you receive your assessment, injections, and follow-up care from the same provider. That continuity allows me to learn how you respond and refine future treatments based on your actual results—not start over with a new injector at every visit.

Look Refreshed. Still Look Like You.

You do not have to decide which product you need, calculate your own units, or arrive with an injection map saved from social media.

Tell me what bothers you, what you want to preserve, and what kind of result would make you feel good. We will build the treatment plan from there.
